Solar Energy is a Smart Investment

Solar energy can help businesses reduce their operating costs and improve their public image. Many of the world's most successful businesses, including Whole Foods, Intel, Microsoft, Walmart, and Ikea, are taking advantage of the benefits of commercial solar panels and using them to reduce their bottom line.

But solar energy isn't just for major corporations. Small and mid-size businesses also have a lot to gain by installing a commercial solar system. Southwest Energy & Solar a highly experienced commercial solar company in Arizona and Nevada that helps businesses of all sizes go solar. We'll make sure you don't miss out on the benefits of a commercial solar system.

Save Money with Commercial Solar Incentives

Solar panels have an excellent return on investment (ROI), but the initial costs often stop businesses from installing solar energy systems. Thankfully, there's plenty of help available. Commercial solar incentives help businesses cover the up-front costs of going solar. Here are some of the best solar rebates and incentives available to Arizona businesses:

Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC)

Available to businesses and homeowners, this solar incentive will offset up to 30% of a solar purchase in the form of a federal tax credit. To qualify, your business must have tax liabilities upon filing. In other words, if the business owner is going to receive monies back from the IRS, then the credit will not be applied for that current tax year and will instead roll forward to the next tax year's filing. The 30% ITC is available for commercial solar projects now through the 2033 year-end. After that, the credit will begin stepping down - before being eliminated entirely in 2036.

MACRS Investment Depreciation

Every commercial solar system qualifies for the Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System (MACRS). This system corresponds to the depreciation of the solar asset and allows a business to recover their investments, for tax purposes, over a specified length of time through a series of annual deductions (typically a five-year period).

USDA REAP Grants

The Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) was established by the USDA to assist agricultural producers with renewable energy investments. REAP grants are available in select rural towns across the country with a population below a certain threshold and cover 25% of a solar investment up to $500,000 for qualifying businesses.

Other Programs

A few local utility companies also offer incentive programs that can be added to the options above for even more savings. Our commercial solar team can help you determine what's available in your area and how much your business can save.
