What happened
Tesla stopped supplying Solar Roof in August 2026
Tesla told its installer network in August 2026 that Solar Roof tiles are no longer available to order. Tesla's own Solar Roof web address now shows its standard solar panel page instead.
The reporting at the time pointed at the economics. A tile that has to work as both roofing material and solar module is expensive to engineer and slow to install — every job is closer to a custom roof than a standard solar hookup. Tesla is putting its resources into conventional panels.

Tesla discontinuing new orders does not change coverage on an installed system.
We service Tesla Solar Roof across the Valley, including systems we did not install — repairs, warranty claims, inverter and Powerwall work, and diagnostics. As the product ages and fewer contractors stay current on it, that matters more, not less.
What replaces it
Two integrated solar roofs, built by manufacturers who specialize in it
Two products fill the gap, both built by manufacturers who have specialized in integrated solar roofing for years.
Luma Solar — an integrated solar shingle that installs like a standard metal roof. Building them since 2008, longer than Tesla ever made Solar Roof.
Voltaic ICON — the solar cell cast into a Westlake concrete roof tile. The same tile already on Phoenix and Scottsdale roofs, generating power.
What has not changed
We remain a Tesla Certified Installer
We remain a Tesla Certified Installer for solar panels and Powerwall. That relationship is intact. It is specifically the tile product Tesla has stopped supplying, and everything else continues exactly as it did.
